Boeing Winnipeg is seeking an Indirect Supply Chain Manager will report to the Supply Chain Senior Manager working out of the Winnipeg, Manitoba site. The Procurement manager will lead the Indirect Supply Chain team and our Procurement Analysts.

The Indirect Supply Chain Manager will lead 7 Procurement Agent employees performing activities related to committing company resources to purchase indirect goods and services, developing supplier strategies, development of bid packages, proposal analysis, and development of contracts. In addition, the manager will manage 3 Procurement Analyst employees performing activities related to supplier performance analysis and improvement, training and supply-base management and optimization. The procurement analyst group supports both Direct and Indirect Supply Chain teams.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees
    • Actively engage with the employee in their formal development plan, providing opportunities for growth
    • Annual performance review
    • Annual compensation review
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.Ensure compliance to and creation of efficient Quality Management controls and process including work instructions, job aids, policies and procedures.
  • Proactively reduce risk and improve supplier operational execution by focusing on proactive management of risks, issues, and opportunities; including rigorous management of production rate changes.
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements using a structured innovation process to support continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience with Supplier Management or Procurement practices and processes
  • 3+ years negotiating terms and conditions experience
  • Experience working directly with suppliers or supplier management
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing others (including those who may not be your direct reports)
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Experience within Aviation or Aerospace
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment

Relocation:

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.

Qualifications

Required:

Knowledge of contract structure and terminology related to specified work.

Knowledge of Lean principles, processes and tools and experience applying them to various work environments to enable implementation of enterprise wide Boeing Production System. Knowledge of the procurement process used at Boeing to track procurement obligations such as, schedule compliance, quantity and past performance. Overall knowledge of processes used in procurement activities such as supplier selection, identification of requirements bid list development, supplier/subtler management and supplier recommendations for goods and services.
