What is a human resources advisor

The human resources advisor acts as a trusted business partner in the transformation of our organization, and offers support to the business units by providing strategic support to the achievement of corporate objectives. He communicates and implements HR strategies, supports talent management programs and provide best practices, both at the level of integration, development and retention of resources.

Responsibilities:
Advisory role
  • Support employees and managers in all activities of the human resources management (performance, absenteeism, disciplinary management, etc.);
  • Advise managers and employees on the application of the internal policies and procedures, as well as any legislative requirement;
  • Suggest and implement plans business to improve efficiency, organizational and operational areas;
  • Understand the organizational issues and provide support to managers in the achievement of their objectives.
Labor relation
  • Support managers in the interpretation of the applicable collective agreements;
  • Guide managers in their approaches with employees in order to promote labor relations;
  • Manage grievances and attend the various committees of working relationship.
Talent management
  • Workforce planning with the different business units;
  • Orchestrate each internals moves;
  • See the development of talent and assist managers in identifying succession and high-risk operational resources;
  • Enforcement of many activities and programs related to talent management.
Organizational development
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition and Organizational development teams in the development of various projects, tools, programs or initiatives and ensure their implementation;
  • Encourage employees and managers to participate in the survey on the employees commitment as well as support in the analysis and communication of the results;
  • Participate in the elaboration and animation of workshops to improve the commitment and follow the progress of the action plans established, if any.
Strategic role
  • Make recommendations regarding HR processes and practices continuous improvement;
  • Build effective collaboration relationships with different partners of business within the Organization;
  • Cary out projects established by the HR strategic plan.

What do you need to be a human resources advisor at Yellow Pages?
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in a HR role and minimum 5 years of experience in any other type of HR role (recruitment, organizational development, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of the different legislations RH (ex: labor laws, health and safety, labor relations, disability management, etc.)
  • Bilingual French and English (spoken and written)
  • Professional designation an asset

Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong problem resolution skills
  • Strong customer service ability
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and tact
  • Ability to think actively and independently, to make decisions
  • Ability to influence and persuasion
