Qualifications - External

Job Duties

Provide personal companionship, meal prep, housekeeping, personal care, medication reminders, respite care, dementia care, hospital discharge and palliative care to clients on a one to one basis in their homes or community setting.

Job Qualification

Completion of formal, accredited caregiver training program (PSW or Personal Support Worker) and/or a combination of equivalent education and experience needed. Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle may be required for some home visits.

Education

Graduation from an accredited Health Care Aide Program.

Experience

One year of recent personal care experience in a similar position or life experience in which similar duties were completed.

Other Skills And Abilities

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in either English and/or French. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team, able to travel locally from assignment to assignment.
