Job Description

Saskatchewan Health Authority - North Battleford, is looking for Psychiatrists with a specific interest in forensic work as well as care and treatment of long-term rehabilitation patients.

The Saskatchewan Hospital is a 284 bed Psychiatric Facility, this includes a 96-bed secure unit that will provide support for offenders living with mental health issues.

This is an innovative approach for delivering mental health care and supports to two separate groups of people with significant psychiatric rehabilitation needs. There is no out-patient component to this position. On-call duties are shared with the Psychiatrists of the Battlefords Mental Health Centre in a 1 in 9 rotation.

Job Qualifications

Successful candidates will hold certification or be eligible for certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).

Individuals must be eligible for provisional or regular licensure from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).

Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is required. Canadian Medical Protective AssociationIn accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
