Your opportunity:

BDO Canada is currently looking for a Financial Coordinatorto join our Consulting Practice, with the ability to work from anywhere in Canada. The individual will own the following responsibilities:


  • Leverage data extracted from our data bases in order to analyze financial and non-financial information for the various Consulting business units
  • Deliver reliable and timely management reports, reconciliations and variance analysis, including but not limited to fee variance and WIP management
  • Create financial templates for forecasting, including support and preparation
  • Use Excel and Power Bi skills to analyze data and produce insightful reports used by senior leaders to make important business decisions, including areas of success and opportunities for improvement
  • Provide financial technical expertise, recommend and implement best practices
  • Provide support for the Consulting business units, including but not limited to:
    • project management accounting,
    • Burn vs Budget monitoring; identifying gaps and capacity issues
    • supervise client billing and collections processes
    • resource allocations and utilization
  • Participate in/ lead various ad-hoc projects

Your experience and education


  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a financial role
  • Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and team collaboration skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management, tasks prioritization and attention to detail
  • Strong ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements/requests from the business
  • Academic background in accounting or pursuing an accounting designation is an asset but not required
