About The Role

We’re looking for a high performing individual with the right experience and capability who will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the financial accounting process. You’ll work closely with a team of accounting professionals while also engaging in technical accounting matters as they arise. You’ll add value through your ability to identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of existing processes as well as through your attention to detail given the required accuracy in the work performed.

What You Will Achieve In This Role
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts, investigating promptly any discrepancies and working with key stakeholders to determine the appropriate course of action
  • Identify and suggest opportunities to add value through improved efficiency and effectiveness and/or enhanced service
  • Adapt quickly to unexpected fluctuations in volume or changes in demand, operating processes or technologies
  • Communicate and liaison with internal finance colleagues and others, including external consultants and auditors as necessary to check accuracy, give or obtain further information and /or resolve queries.
  • Gather, validate and compile quantitative and qualitative information from multiple internal and /or external sources
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls, documentation, and monitoring in accordance with the financial control framework.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Working with a team to deliver high quality outputs in the most effective ways while gaining personal and professional development.
  • Developing, implementing, and documenting processes and controls.
What You Bring To This Role
  • Accounting designation or nearing completion, combined with deep understanding of IFRS and financial services accounting, particularly P&C insurance
  • Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office; Sophisticated capability in MS Excel
  • Contribute to projects to drive improvements of operational effectiveness and consistency
  • Strong communication skills: read people and dynamics thoughtfully and accurately
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively with a team of financial professionals to deliver high quality output
  • Ability to multi-task in a face pace environment against challenging timelines and workload pressures
