We are currently seeking an experienced Finance Manager/Bookkeeper in our Vancouver office to execute multiple aspects of Accounting and Administration for DWF’s Canadian Insurance Services division providing claims and adjusting services to the international insurance industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable and posting of disbursements
  • Accounts Receivable including billing, posting of payments and collections
  • Trust accounting
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Financial and operational reporting
  • Month end and year end
  • Forecasting
  • Cashflow management
  • Complete and oversee collections
  • Upload e-billing invoices into third party billing systems
  • Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory authorities
  • Prepare and submit payroll (ADP management) & tax reporting
  • Oversee firm benefits and point of contact for any benefit related queries
  • Track and complete all accounting tasks accurately, meeting all deadlines
  • Ensure that the Firm’s accounting processes are followed and communicate to other departments and teams as required
  • Respond to queries regarding the accounting processes
  • Innovate and set up new business processes
  • Perform other administrative and operational duties as required

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Graduate of an Accounting Diploma or Degree program
  • 8+ years bookkeeping / accounting / finance experience
  • Chartered Accountant (CPA) Designation preferred
  • Experience with Account Edge / QuickBooks / Sage / Freshbooks or similar
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills
  • Experience setting up new processes
  • Experience working in a small business (10 – 100 employees) valued
  • Strategic mindset, ability to develop and support overall financial strategies
  • High level of initiative and professionalism, with a customer focused mind-set
  • Excellent written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
