Department: Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

Location: Roving Onsite, based out of Edmonton Alberta

Description:

MAXX North America Services Ltd., a leading provider of energy transportation services across Western Canada, is looking to hire a motivated, capable, and dynamic Field Safety Advisor to work within our growing company. This opportunity represents a compelling career challenge for someone looking to get in on the ground floor with an up-and-coming company that has a strong leadership team based in Edmonton.

Reporting to the Safety Director, the ideal candidate will have a background in the oil and gas industry. The Safety Advisor oversees the implementation of HSE Department functions in partnership with operations management, to proactively sustain a safe work culture and environment. This role will be in-field approximately 90% of the time, candidate with travel to Maxx’s project sites across Western Canada weekly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· HSE Program administration, auditing, consultation, inspections, incident review, claims management, and management of controls as it pertains to the company’s evolving HSE program.

· Provides professional HSE consultation and interpretation of company HSE standards and management system processes in relation to governing OHS laws and regulations.

· Liaises as necessary between the Company, Client HSE Resources, Insurance Carriers, and Regulatory Agencies to provide assistance and effective resolution on matters pertaining to HSE, Risk Management, and Loss Control/Prevention.

· Manages the administration of client-vendor pre-qualification websites such as ISNetworld, PICS, and Comply Works.

Skills and Experience:

· The employee will possess an NCSO ticket and or a CRSP ticket.

· The employee will have 5 years’ experience in the health, safety, or related area.

· Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.

· Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and proficiency in the use of computers and software applications.

· Initiative-taking, with a demonstrated passion for safety excellence and taking initiative.

· Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity. Strong organization, time management, and diligence.

· Cheerful outlook is an asset.
