JOB INFO

As the Excavator Operator you are expected to be engaged in our safety program, executing work in a safe manner, in adherence with CANA policies and all applicable code regulations and the Act.

• This position entails physically demanding motions and tasks.
• The work requires commuting to different sites in and around the Calgary area.
• With projects across Western Canada, travel and shift work may be required.
• CANA Energy operates year-round and outdoors in all types of terrain and environments.

YOU WILL

• 
  Operate with care and diligence company equipment, including minor maintenance
• Possess a good working knowledge of equipment and their operation
• Deliver materials to various work locations
  
• Complete and report daily inspections

YOU WILL NEED

• 3-5 years’ experience operating excavators of different sizes
• Reliable transportation to commute to various job sites
• A successful Pre-Employment Assessment that includes screening for Drug & Alcohol and the ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
• Valid Class 5 license with a clean driving abstract.
• Demonstrated safe work skills and commitment including knowledge of safe work and job planning procedures
• Knowledge of the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground cable installations
• Ability to run grade unassisted
• Thorough knowledge of locate process and responsibilities

NICE TO HAVE

• Previous shallow utilities experience
  
• Ability to operate multiple pieces of equipment and work in high traffic areas
• Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license
• Previous flagger experience
