Job Description:

Crescent Point Energy is a conventional oil and gas producer with assets strategically focused in properties comprised of high-quality, long-life, operated light and medium oil and natural gas reserves in Canada and the United States. Crescent Point strives to create sustainable, value-added growth in reserves, production and cash flow through the execution of management’s integrated strategy of acquiring, exploiting and developing reserves.

Crescent Point is currently seeking to fill the following position:

Job Title
: Engineering Internship Student
Start Date:May 2022
Term:16 months
Location: Field Office: Weyburn
Reports to: Senior Engineer

Purpose:

Crescent Point Energy is looking to fill Engineering Internship positions for May 2022. These internships are 16 months in length and provide you the opportunity to get hands on experience that will develop the skills needed for a career in Oil and Gas industry. There are multiple positions available in different areas of specialty including Operations and Facilities.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Interns will work under the guidance of an experienced engineer. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic high performing team. You will do challenging work, solve problems, and make an impact. Some of the duties, department dependent will include but are not limited to:

Operations

  • Provide support on well optimizations – surface and downhole (economics & equipment loading evaluation)
  • Designing artificial lift systems (rod pumps, PCP’s and ESP’s)
  • Analysis on pump efficiency to evaluate potential optimizations
  • Service Rig workover analysis and economics
  • Evaluation of shut-in wells to determine if economically viable to re-activate or be added to abandonment list (prioritization of abandonment list)
  • Assist with AFEs (authorizations for expenditure) as well as cost and optimization tracking
  • Optimization Tracking

Facilities

  • Management Of Change (MOC) documentation and necessary engineering calculations
  • Collecting data in the field and scoping of small projects
  • Project setup and funds request as needed
  • Developing & maintaining a project schedule
  • Preparing general meeting agenda for the team
  • Monitoring changes to drill & fracking schedule to determine affected project timelines
  • Drawing of redlines & as-builts

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Working towards an Engineering Degree is required. must be returning to post-secondary institution following the internship work term
  • Must be approved through university to participate in Internship program and complete a 16-month work term
  • Previous experience in the oil and gas industry would be an asset
  • Excellent computer skills within depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is required
  • Enthusiastic individual with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
