Job description

Production Controller: An experienced senior manager with comprehensive expertise in manufacturing processes, encompassing welding and fabrication of mechanical equipment such as piping systems, as well as manufacturing electronic instrumentation. Possesses a strong understanding of business processes and project management from a manufacturing perspective. Capable of collaborating with various departments to gather information, strategize personnel allocation, distribute and oversee work packages for multiple projects, and address manufacturing challenges, whether technical or resource-related. Will liaise with the Projects Department, Design Controller, and oversee two Production Supervisors.

Essential duties and responsibilities.

• Performing a senior management role coordinating Engineering and Production work packages with other managers in Projects, Engineering, and Production
• Oversee welding and fabrication of mechanical equipment, including piping systems.
• Manage manufacturing processes for electronic instrumentation.
• Optimize business processes to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
• Collaborate with departments to gather information and plan production schedules.
• Allocate personnel effectively to meet project deadlines and objectives.
• Distribute and oversee work packages for multiple projects.
• Address technical or resource-related manufacturing challenges.
• Liaise with Projects Department and Design Controller for alignment.
• Supervise and provide guidance to two Production Supervisors.
• Creating task forces to solve technical and project delivery.
• Will require travel between Head Offices in Burlington and Manufacturing Facility in Hamilton.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in engineering and managing engineering teams.
• Mechanical engineer or equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes for pressure piping systems, vessels, and support structures.
• Good working knowledge of other engineering disciplines such as Instrumentation and Control, and Electronics circuits design.
• Experienced in engineering design processes, including full documentation through various design phases.
• Familiarity with working under strict quality control programs, preferably in regulated industries such as nuclear, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, or aerospace.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada without requiring sponsorship at the time of hiring or in the future.
