GSS integrated energy Ltd. is currently recruiting for a talented Alternative Energy Electrical Engineerwith experience on renewable and low carbon energy technologies to join our team in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

The Alternative Energy Electrical Engineer will support the delivery of multidisciplinary projects through their feasibility, pre-construction and/or construction phases with a specific focus on the electrical design aspects of projects. She/He will act as a Design Engineer, managing projects as a technical advisor and support the review of designs. Whilst this role will have a particular focus on Combined Heat and Power (CHP) cogeneration and solar PV developments it may also include involvement in wind, storage, and hybrid projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and manage the electrical design of alternative energy projects (primarily natural gas CHP cogeneration and solar PV projects) from preliminary design in accordance with the pre-defined budgets, deadlines, and quality requirements.
• Support a team of multi-disciplined specialists to design, develop and deliver alternative energy projects with a specific focus on the electrical aspects of project development.
• Support on the design aspects of interconnection applications and study process scopes for clients across the USA and Canada
• Support the review of electrical designs and systems studies on Engineering scopes for projects
• Regularly and accurately reporting the status of projects to management.
• Act as the main interface and manage the relationship with clients and contractors.
• Ensuring health, safety and environmental considerations are integral to the delivery of projects and project tasks.
• Add value, avoid/resolve issues, mitigate risks and manage participation at site visits and meetings.

Skills / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years experience in electrical engineering work; preferably in alternative renewable power generation and electrical distribution systems.
• PE license or EIT preferred.
• Excellent communication (written and spoken) in English, with the ability to engage and interface with stakeholders; bilingualism a strong asset.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of Electrical Engineering standards, best practices and safety regulations.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• A flexible and proactive approach to completing work.
• Valid driving licence.
• Willingness for domestic travel (up to 30%)
• Must be a Canadian or US Citizen or authorized to work lawfully in Canada, without sponsorship from GSS Integrated Energy Ltd.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
