What is the opportunity?

As a key member of the Capital Markets and Treasury Services Performance Management team the Director, Macro and Spread Products Advisory will act as the key Finance relationship manager for the Macro and Spread business within Capital Markets responsible for management reporting, financial planning, and analysis to support business leaders. What will you do?

  • Manage Finance relationship with business management in Macro Products and Spread Products, formerly the Fixed Income Currencies and Commodities (FICC) business, providing insightful and actionable financial and business analysis for senior leaders
  • Manage a team of finance advisors who will act as primary coverage contacts for product heads under Macro and Spread. Day to day oversight of junior FPM advisors to ensure requests are being fulfilled accurately and in a timely manner
  • Responsible for producing and delivering financial and management reporting for Macro and Spread to senior management including monthly reporting, at-a-glance, FTE reporting, cost allocations
  • Coordinate the construction as well as challenge financial estimates, quarterly forecasts, annual plan, 5 year outlook and line of business reviews with a comprehensive understanding of forward looking trends
  • Drive integration of drivers based forecasting and product positioning transparency initiatives to enhance reporting analysis capabilities
  • Provide business executives and senior management with analysis and recommendations on usage of financial resources, through identification of issues and ongoing monitoring as well as provide analysis of strategic initiatives


What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Accounting designation (CPA) and/or Degree in Finance (MBA / CFA) with 7+ years relevant experience
  • Experience in complex wholesale business activity, namely a thorough understanding of Capital Markets businesses and transactions, and associated risks & returns.
  • Experience in management reporting and analysis, and/or financial resource optimization (capital, funding, and liquidity).
  • Keen sense of numbers and strong analytical skills with ability to multitask and handle high-pressure executive level requests on a continuous basis
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to influence stakeholders mobilize groups to deliver on common goals
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Able to consistently exercise independent thought and judgment and adapts to new tasks quickly, proactive and persistent in issue resolution
  • Very strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Presentation skills required, with data mining skill and ability to explore new technologies to enhance the delivery of financial information


Nice-to-have

  • CPA or CFA or Finance MBA highly preferred
  • Understanding of Capital Markets businesses an asset
  • Solid experience and good understanding of bank structure, risk management concepts, financial markets and instruments
  • Experience in financial modelling including understanding of statistics, risk or other quantitative metrics
  • Risk management, bond and derivative financial markets, front office execution, trading and derivative operations, risk systems, hedge accounting, risk decomposition
