Director, Information Technology & Supply Chain

Location: Mississauga,

This role leads two key areas of operations within the Finance and operations team, IT Platforms & Projects (ITPP) and Supply Chain.

As head of ITPP this role serves as senior leader and strategic partner to the lines of business and provide technical solutions to drive business goals. Formulates, leads, and aligns the short- and long-term IT strategy for NNCI in concert with Regional & Corporate IT. As head of Supply Chain sets strategies for and manages Supply Chain operations, functions and activities within NNCI for: Product Supply, Order Fulfillment and Business Support.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

Ensures platforms and projects are prioritized to meet business opportunities and ensures systems are sufficiently supported to maintain continuity and provide value to line of business.

Lead the development of the IT vision, strategy and business plans by aligning to global and regional IT strategies and collaborating with business areas to understand current and future needs.

Enable NNCI organization using technology by proactively partner with business units to identify business process change, opportunities where technology may be used either in standard or novel ways in support of business strategies and tactics.

Maintain alignment with corporate IT standards by overseeing Implementation of NNAS corporate-wide technologies and systems so that NNCI is able to leverage global solution.

Provide managerial and technical leadership to the Information Management Department in supporting critical business and scientific applications and end user computing needs.

Develop the IT organizational unit to deliver business value through the delivery of IT services and solutions by assessing business needs, individual skills and competencies and ensuring the correct resources are available to deliver services and solutions needed. saleable products and samples are met, and updates/revises plans and priorities to meet changing requirements, including manufacturing site changes, new and discontinued products.

Works with Quality, Regulatory, Marketing and other NNCI contacts on quality or production issues which impact the supply of product, such as changes in demand, potential recalls, etc…

Develops, recommends and implements Order Fulfilment strategies and plans that align with the achievement of NNCI business strategies.

Manages contractual and business relationships with NNCI’s Third Party ensuring added value at optimum cost by developing, recommending and implementing comprehensive performance measurements for the order fulfilment process and providing timely, accurate and complete reporting.

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emerging trends in the Canadian Supply Channel, assesses the impact to NNCI, recommends action and manages the change process, as appropriate.

Forecasts, prepares, recommends and implements the Information Technology & Supply Chain operating and capital budgets, monitoring progress throughout the year, reviewing and revising as appropriate to ensure proper funding for IT & Supply Chain operations and investments.

Ensure that reporting personnel have goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.

Ensure that completed Individual Development plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.

Continues professional development by completing an annual development plan and executing against the plan to keep current with changing technology and to build competencies

Education & Experience:

  • University degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Marketing, or another related field.
  • Experience collaborating regionally and globally to ensure execution of projects and successful business outcomes
  • Experience developing IT strategic plans and practical implementation strategies.
  • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of technology solutions in a corporate environment. (Pharmaceutical experience preferred)
  • 5+ years direct people management experience
  • Strong project and process management skills (PMP, Six Sigma certifications an asset)
  • Experience in collaborating cross-functionally to prioritize and design solutions and roadmaps for future system capabilities and business needs.
