Work Status: Full-Time
Location: Toronto, ON. Option to work from home/remote with onsite attendance for meeting and events.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Director, Product Development and Strategy, you will drive our big data and data science products throughout their lifecycle, understand and prioritize business use cases, and be able to communicate customer needs effectively to the Data Science and Technology teams. You will solve complex problems, lead agile working teams on data-driven projects, and help to grow our business intelligence capabilities. You will work closely with key stakeholders throughout the company (including Product, Content, Revenue Management, Research, and Technology).
You will join our Data and Advanced Advertising team, a centre of innovation that drives revenue through groundbreaking ad-tech products and data-driven insights that help us grow our business. With a wealth of data spanning viewers, content, and platforms, we are building tools that will enable predictive analytics and cross-platform insights.

Responsibilities:
  • Conceive, launch, and manage big data and data science products throughout their lifecycle
  • Deliver capabilities that improve users, teams, and systems ability to make decisions and drive revenue growth
  • Thoughtfully and purposefully grow Corus’ data assets and people’s ability to work with data
  • Champion the vision and purpose of the data science team and roadmap
  • Develop and manage long and short-term product OKRs
  • Construct fact and subject-matter-expertise based assessments of new opportunities and features
  • Build business cases for new product and feature development
  • Actively manage the data science roadmap, and product backlogs
  • Make trade-offs and balance business requirements with technical constraints
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate business terms that deliver lasting value to Corus
  • Actively participate in the data science summer internship program, ensure participants have a positive experience, enhance their learning, and deliver value to Corus
  • Seek out innovation opportunities and partnerships
About You

What We Need From You:
  • Expertise working with agile/scrum software development teams
  • Undergraduate Degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or equivalent
  • 4+ years of relevant data analytics and business intelligence experience
  • Knowledge of data infrastructure best practices
  • Experience using Qlikview, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent data visualization tool
  • Experience utilizing both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis techniques and familiarity with common querying languages (SQL, R, or Python)
  • Basic understanding of data science models (such as Regression Analysis, Random Forest, Clustering, NLP, etc.)
