Heritage Co-op is hiring seasonal Crop Scouts for Spring 2023at our Agro Department in Brandon, Manitoba.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Agro Manager,Crop Scouts are responsible for providing Guest service, weed and insect identification, soil sampling, working with Agronomists to learn scouting techniques, crop nutrient and protection recommendations and data entry.

Key responsibilities include:

• Field/crop scouting
• Delivering product to farms
• Assisting with shipping and receiving of crop protection products and seed bags
• Assisting with Guest appreciation events
• Assisting with receiving and shipping of fertilizer
• Operating yard maintenance equipment when needed
• Adding and updating field information for Guests
• Assisting with the set up and record keeping of insect monitoring traps
• Assist the Agronomist/Agro Manager as needed
• May also assist another Agro site when needed.

• Excellent interpersonal and Guest service skills
• Highly efficient organizational abilities
• You are enrolled in an Agriculture Diploma or Degree program
• Strong communication skills; both oral and written
• Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
