Core Duties and Responsibilities

As a Credit Specialist, your responsibilities will include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Extract and analyze data from financial institution systems for communication with borrowers;
  • Communication with borrowers on behalf of major banks and financial institutions – including inbound, outbound calls, email and text messages;
  • Prepare correspondence with borrowers and/or communicate with team members to confirm next steps;
  • Manage borrower and file related deadlines, prioritize files based on rate of recovery;
  • Review due diligence related to recovery/enforcement of debt;
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of file information for clients; and,
  • Coordinating all reporting requirements for clients and lawyers.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful, you possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset;
  • Previous experience working in customer service;
  • Proven ability to think critically, problem solve, and make sound judgement calls;
  • Experience working in debt recovery considered a significant asset;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Strong ability to manage your time and demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in deadline driven work environment; and,
  • Ability to achieve financial and other specified targets.
