Position Highlights

We are in search of a skilled and thorough Corporate Security Operations and Investigations Specialist to become a valued member of our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the integrity and security of our organization’s physical assets, personnel, and information systems. Your core responsibilities will revolve around the strategic planning, implementation, and upkeep of Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Systems, encompassing both new facility deployments and enhancements to existing sites. This position demands a robust technical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to upholding a secure and efficient workplace environment. Reporting directly to the Corporate Security Manager, you will be a pivotal contributor to our security efforts.

Responsibilities:
Security Strategy and Planning:

  • Collaborate on the refinement and execution of a robust security strategy aligned with corporate and industry standards.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate security principles into infrastructure projects and cyclical upgrades.
  • In collaboration with other team members, develop and assist with budgeting goals and monthly invoicing.

Risk Management and Assessment:

  • Conduct routine risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to proactively identify potential threats and weaknesses in our systems.
  • Implement effective risk mitigation measures and ensure strict adherence to security policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a repository of standardized responses to technical inquiries and operational documentation.
  • Conduct annual violent risk assessment evaluations in collaboration with other stakeholders.

Security Technology Evaluation and Maintenance:

  • Evaluate and recommend security tools, technologies, and services to enhance our security capabilities.
  • Oversee and maintain security systems inventory and maintenance programs.
  • Oversee and maintain a detailed accounting of security systems and solutions and maintain site documentation.

Security Operations:

  • Work in partnership with other team members to respond to security incidents and breaches effectively.
  • Collaborate with other team members on security incident response planning, including investigation, containment, and resolution.
  • Provide support to law-enforcement agencies and Crown Counsel in the investigation of and court proceedings for criminal incidents related to the corporation.

Security Awareness and Training:

  • Assist in a comprehensive security awareness training program for employees to cultivate a security-conscious culture.
  • Promote a shared sense of responsibility for security across the organization

Position Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven track record in the security, security systems or risk management field.
  • Proven track record in the investigation of property crime and crimes against persons.
  • In-depth knowledge of emerging security threats and best practices to mitigate them.
  • Proven track record in driving security initiatives and implementing security controls.
  • Strong teamwork, business and service orientation competencies.
  • Familiarity with Avigilon is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Lenel is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Bosch systems is an asset.
  • Relevant certifications such as CPP, PSP, CPI, CTM, CPTED, CFE, CISSP, CSSA are an asset.
  • Comprehension of the relevant acts and legislation, including those that govern the private security industry.
  • Knowledge of community policing programs and community groups implementing crime prevention and awareness programs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, OneNote etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with security incident management, risk assessment, and compliance initiatives.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to thrive both independently and as a collaborative team member.
  • Compliance with the provincially legislated requirements of the Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) is mandatory.
