THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Our ideal candidate has accounting experience covering from accounts receivable to bank reconciliations and financial reporting. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in business, finance or accounting;
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant accounting, administrative and/or bookkeeping experience;
  • Non-for-profit experience an asset, preferably in the charitable sector;
  • Excellent working knowledge of Sage 300 is a must;
  • Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s);
  • Strong working knowledge of accounts receivable and bank reconciliation processes;
  • Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of regulations affecting charities and GAAP in a non-profit organization an asset
  • Strong communication skills; able to adapt communication style for various audiences;
  • Highly organized, detail oriented with strong analytical skill;
  • Able to work independently and manage multiples task simultaneously; and
  • Located within Ontario and able to travel to office once a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all accounts receivable and revenue records including recording revenue into Sage 300 financial system, processing cheques received, run reports for month-end revenue reporting, and process credit card refunds;
  • Reconcile the bank accounts for numerous Provincial and Chapter accounts on a monthly basis to ensure all monthly transactions in the bank are accounted and recorded properly;
  • Issue and track account receivable invoices as requested on a timely manner according to Accounting regulations;
  • Prepare journal entry adjustments with regards to changing codes, receipting or discrepancies to certify the revenues are recorded correctly;
  • Produce month end journal entries for payroll, insurance, deferred revenue to record expenses and revenues correctly in the Financial Statements;
  • Provide balance sheet account reconciliations, including Account receivables;
  • Run the monthly financial statements and have a true reflection of the organization’s actual transactions;
  • Respond to financial and non-financial issues from CCC staff and non-staff on a timely manner;
  • Generate reports and submit precise gaming reports for Nevada ticket proceeds to IAGCO (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario) as per IAGCO guidelines;
  • File government commodity tax returns and rebate applications.
