Duties:

• Creating high-level, photo-real live-action composites using 2D, 2.5D, and/or 3D elements.
• Understanding 3D multi-pass rendering techniques and color space concepts
• Working with VFX color pipelines and the VFX production process
• Reviewing and performing often complex compositing tasks
• Producing or assisting in developing and production of unique design concepts
• Producing high resolution computerized images and drawings for feature films or episodic productions
• Creating the layout and placement using the conceptual mock-ups provided
• Producing high resolution proofs and camera-ready materials
• Manipulating individual shots of 2-D or 3-D animated renderings according to creative specifications using a specialized compositing software
• Seamlessly integrating the various layers or elements of a live action shot
• Matte extractions from blue/green screen photography
• Composite Multi-Pass CG Elements to create photo-real shots

Requirements:

• College diploma in related field required
• Experience or training in multimedia design at a post-secondary, college or technical institution may be required.
• Creative ability and artistic talent, as demonstrated by a portfolio of work, are required
• 1+ years of experience in VFX production using Nuke, Mocha Pro
• Ability to be a self-starter and to be resourceful.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• A proven eye for detail, composition, color, and lighting
• Ability to work under pressure and take direction under tight production schedules while maintaining a high quality of work.
• Ability to work independently, solve creative problems efficiently, communicate ideas and concerns effectively, coordinate with other departments
• Ability to tackle shots from start to finish, including roto, tracking, paint, animation, and creation of elements, etc.
• Strong attention to detail, sense of color, colorspace, and lighting.
• Clean and efficient script organization.
• At least 1+ years of production experience working in a photo-real/live-action VFX pipeline; commercial, TV, or feature film experience, preferred.
• Have a working knowledge of VFX color pipelines, VFX production processes, and photographic reality is preferred.
