Duties:

Working closely with the Pharmacy Manager and other Pharmacy Team Members, you will be responsible for:

• Dispensing prescribed pharmaceuticals to patients, health care professionals and advise them on signs, side effects, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage;
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and following all practices according to Federal and Provincial Law;
• Supervising Pharmacy technicians and assistants in those functions that are authorized by government and professional regulations;
• Being proactive in your conducts at work to improve the pharmacy’s productivity;
• Ensuring there is proper preparation, packaging, distribution and storage of vaccines, serums, biologicals and other pharmaceuticals;
• Ensuring there is proper disposal of medical waste and expired prescriptions;
• Willing to partake in external pharmacy support programs;
• Ordering and maintaining stock of pharmaceutical supplies;
• Providing customer service that will promote the sale of merchandise in the pharmacy;
• To assist, if required, the supervisor in preparing reports, compiling statistics, processing invoices, and preparing annual budgets;
• Maintaining medication profile of patients;
• Providing information to customers on selection and use of non-prescription medication;
• Managing asset protection to prevent shrink;
• To be familiar with the pharmaceutical products in the pharmacy;
• As a brand ambassador, you will model “living the brand” every day through our Mission Statement and values of Teamwork, Responsibility, Service and Community;

• Who you are:

You are passionate about a career in the Pharmaceutical industry and:

• You have completed a bachelor of science degree in Pharmacy;
• You are licensed to practice and are in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy Professionals or eligible for registration;
• You have five or more years of prior experience in a Community Pharmacy;
• You are professional and brand-oriented with a friendly and positive demeanor to model a strong customer focus;
• You must have the ability to communicate effectively to maximize accuracy in the delivery of customer care;
• High level of professionalism;
• You look for continuous improvement through optimizing work processes;
• You are action oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment;
• You have strong interpersonal savvy skills; relating openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people;
• You are willing to be involved in the community;
• You take accountability and can work under minimal supervision.

Salary: $50.00-$65.00 per hour

• pharmacist: 1 year (required)
