In Roche/Genentech Pharma Product Development (PD) Global Clinical Operations (PDG) we put the patient first. We are on a mission to transform clinical trials so that we can quickly deliver novel medicines to patients while lowering the overall cost to society.

Duration 1 year contract (with an option of extending for another year)

Location Anywhere in Canada (we accommodate remote locations).

YOUR JOB SCOPE

As a Clinical Operations Lead in a cross-functional, matrixed organization, you will be empowered to work with people across PDG and beyond to enable all teams to perform at their best, foster a growth mindset to optimize potential and talent, and flow to high impact work to advance our medicines for patients. You will have the opportunity to work as needed across one or more areas of PDG including global study management, patient/disease areas, local country clinical operations, biosample management, quality management, systems and process development, learning, insights and analytics, as well as strategic focus areas, such as innovation & creativity, investigator centricity & partnering, patient & caregiver benefit, inclusive research, diversity & inclusion, talent flow, and other areas.

YOUR INITIAL FOCUS

As a Clinical Operations Lead, your initial responsibilities will include

  • Clinical operations - focused on the US, including providing clinical trial oversight, budget and contract oversight, managing vendors and stakeholders, developing recruitment and site monitoring plans and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Local and global initiatives and personal development

Over time you will flow to other responsibilities according to business needs and your interest

You exemplify the following

  • Proficient knowledge of clinical operations or related areas and ICH GCP

  • Ability to identify, contribute to, and participate in continuous improvement and change management activities to solve complex problems and bring new perspectives

  • Collaborating across departments and other functions to develop and implement best practices across clinical operations.

  • Serves as a best practices/quality resource

  • Understand customer needs and discuss with internal team to draw insights from own work and improve customer experience

  • Ability to serve as a resource for colleagues and provide functional guidance; can lead moderate sized projects with manageable risks and resource requirements

  • Always reflects upon and evaluates reasons behind a particular reason or belief and takes responsibility for the implications of personal thoughts or actions.

  • Works in rapid cycles (real-time optimization) to prioritize (i.e.,determine what work is essential or kill certain things in order to create the capacity to focus on what matters) and ensure the alignments of priorities to the mid- and long-term outcomes

  • Fast adoption, foster changes and being change agents for investigators/patients to adopt new digital technologies in conducting clinical studies

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • DRIVE PATIENT-CENTRICITY (MINDSETS, BEHAVIOURS AND ACTIONS) THROUGHOUT CLINICAL OPERATIONS by always putting the needs of the patient and the investigator first. Cultivate meaningful peer-to-peer collaborations to drive a deeper understanding of investigator and patient needs across PDG and beyond, and in doing so nurture a culture of curiosity to enable faster, simpler and more patient centric ways of operationalizing our studies.

  • DRIVE EVOLUTION OF GLOBAL CLINICAL OPERATIONS through the bold pursuit of Roche’s Vision. This will be achieved by creating, supporting and embedding radically simpler ways to do high impact work. This includes the successful delivery of PDG’s portfolio of work including both study and/or transformational projects.

  • INSPIRE AND EMPOWER TALENT by working with colleagues, across PDG and all of Roche, to promote communication and community, in a global matrixed environment. Optimizing growth opportunities and capabilities to successfully contribute and operate in the global PD/PDG environment. Drive new thinking by identifying new opportunities and options to embrace value creation.

  • PROACTIVE STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT AND ALIGNMENT by partnering with a broad set of stakeholders, enhancing collaborations, fostering connections and removing roadblocks and obstacles, and applying new ways of working to achieve the Pharma Vision -- bring 3 - 5 times more benefit to patients at 50% less cost to society by 2030.
