DLA Management Group has a need for a self starting, self managed financial CFO at our head office in Valley. Reporting to the owner, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational accounting for our group of companies and be an integral part of it’s management team. You will be performing and ultimately responsible for all aspects of the accounting department of each individual company. You are a stickler for ensuring the numbers are right but are also able to see the big picture and contribute to the operational success. Situated in the Annapolis Valley, this position offers a quality lifestyle.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements
  • Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation
  • Preparation of year end audits
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Development and maintenance of cost control processes
  • Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, and Payroll

Qualifications:

  • Business Administration Program with major course work in accounting or working towards completion of professional accounting designation
  • Seven years direct work experience in accounting which must include financial statement preparation
  • Demonstrated initiative with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and problem resolution skills are required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work well under pressure
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic are required

A professional accounting designation or be in the final stages of the program with at least seven years of related experience preferred but the right amount of experience and education would be considered.
You possess outstanding teamwork and communication skills, strong analytical abilities and a hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves management style.
Solid understanding of accounting systems, as well as MS Office applications.
Excellent interpersonal/communication/organizational skills.
Experience in manufacturing and wholesale distribution an asset.
7-10 years post qualification experience.
Salary will be based on experience.
