Primary Objectives

Working as an integral member of the site construction team, the Carpenter applies their experience and training in the execution of a variety of carpentry related tasks. With an eye for detail and passion for quality, the carpenter aims to apply their craft to deliver the high-end custom and multi-family homes Abstract is awarded for.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

• Carry out a variety of carpentry services (including backing, blocking, framing, and other general carpentry)
• Execute work with minimal supervision while working alongside a team to complete large scale residential construction projects
• Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, and other specifications on a variety of structures related to the construction project
• Work alongside sub-trades in the completion of all projects
• Maintain a professional relationship with all site and company stakeholders
• Complete administrative duties as required
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools
• Maintain professional appearance and safety apparel
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and Employee Handbook standards
• Abide by expectation that all Abstract job sites are smoke, drug, and alcohol free
• Perform other construction related duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least two (2) years of hands-on carpentry experience, ideally in wood-frame construction; apprentices will be considered
• Demonstrated experience in residential framing, concrete form work, finishing, or general carpentry
• Must own all hand tools
• Possess a high degree of attention to detail while enjoying challenging work as part of a team
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 75lbs above shoulder height; climb multiple flights of stairs and/or ladders throughout the day; ability to kneel, crouch, bend throughout the day; grasp/push/pull objects using both hands; willingness and ability to work at heights utilizing established safety controls
• Demonstrated ability to perform work without supervision
• Basic computer literacy to including smartphone or tablet use.
• Expert command of written and spoken English
