Full Job Description, Building Technologist

Citizen Design Build Inc. is a design and build firm specializing in residential construction. We are currently expanding and are seeking a Building Technologist to join our dedicated team.

Job Description:

· Collaborate with the Design Lead to complete thoughtful designs that meet client needs within the project requirements

· Prepare and ensure the accuracy of complete sets of architectural drawings

· Maintain accurate drawing sets, propagating changes and updates as directed

· Advise on the design specifications as they relate to building assemblies, materials and details; resolving design issues in collaboration with the Design Lead

· Support the Design Lead in the coordination of project documentation including: reviewing shop drawings and submittals, assisting with specifications and details, and assisting with product research and review

· Ensure that teamwork and our team culture remain paramount in all work decisions. In order for Citizen to continue to be an amazing place to work, we all have to lean in together and give it all we got. 

Skills and Qualifications:

· 2-5 years of relevant residential design experience

· Highly proficient in SketchUp and LayOut (we use this software almost exclusively as our CAD and plan development environment)

· Solid understanding of sustainable design considerations and relevant building codes

· Familiar with various building assemblies and other building systems including: HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

· Excellent communication skills

· Positive attitude, hardworking, reliable, motivated to learn

· Task oriented and tenacious. This position requires someone that loves to get solid, reliable, and accurate plans out the door complete and on time.

Schedule: Full time, Monday to Friday 8am-4pm

Location: Citizen Office, Victoria, B.C. (in-office position)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
