Job Title:Senior Bookkeeper

Location:Vancouver, B.C.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to and working with the Director, the Bookkeeper will oversee all day-to-day accounts

activities. An important function of the position to accurately process all billing transactions (invoices,

payments, deposits, refund, etc.) in a timely manner. This also includes monitoring customer accounts

and following up on outstanding and overdue balances, and initiating the collection process on a

regular basis. Another important task is the reconciliation of customer accounts and the related

receivable GL accounts on a regular basis, and participating in process improvement by providing

feedback and support.

CANDIDATE DESCRIPTION

You are dependable, adaptable, and responsible. You are well organized and have great attention to

detail. You are analytical and disciplined in your bookkeeping process. You will be responsible for

creating and delivering management information reports & monthly reports so the team can run the

business effectively efficiently and profitably

For this role, we are seeking a full-time on-site full-cycle bookkeeper who understands the

complexity of running a small business. As the ideal candidate, you are recognized for contributing to

a financially strong businesses where the facilities are well run, and the administrative staff are

supported. We are looking for a candidate who has exceptional work ethics to actively improve

current systems. Other qualifications include:

  • 3+ years of full cycle bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office solutions/tools
  • Self starter, able to work independently
  • Comfort with cloud-based software applications such as Sage 50, MS Office Suite, G-Suite
  • Comfort with the administration and monitoring of cloud-based storage systems
  • Experience with data management, administrative processes and knowledge of

administrative principles and best practices.

  • The ability to work well under pressure and a proven ability to prioritize, manage and meet

conflicting deadlines.

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of CRA, Payroll & GST regulations.

  • Previous experience with a student and client database system such as MindBody or

Jackrabbit Class an asset.

DUTIES

  • Oversee banking and payroll, including all deposits & expenses.
  • Bank account reconciliations.
  • Daily reconciliations of all credit card sales with external credit card processors and follow up

/ resolve discrepancies.

  • Management of all vendor AR and AP, including expense reimbursements and reconciliation

of receipts.

  • Monitoring of AR of tuition and academy fees through Jackrabbit Class.
  • Maintain accounting systems, ensure compliance with Canadian Tax Act and other applicable

financial laws.

  • Post journal entries and account reconciliation.
  • Process and post payroll for salaried employees.
  • Track hours of hourly employees and independent contractors.
  • Process pay for independent contractors.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date GST, PST and Shop sales records for annual filing.
  • Produce general ledgers for year-end tax filing.

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • Salary: $65,000.00+, dependent on experience.
  • Paid vacation and sick days, time-in-lieu.
  • Start Date: Immediate.
