Aquilini Group (“AG”) is a diversified family business founded in Vancouver, BC more than 50 years ago with roots in the real estate development and construction industry. Today the company owns and manages an international real estate portfolio that includes commercial and residential properties, hotels, golf courses, vineyards and blueberry and cranberry farms. In addition to its ongoing pursuits in real estate development and construction, AG has expanded its holdings to include assets in the sports & entertainment, renewable energy, aquaculture, tourist attractions, restaurants and food & beverage industries.

Summary:
We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced part-time bookkeeper (flexible hours) who can work from home and meet at the downtown Vancouver head office in person as needed. This position is responsible for full cycle bookkeeping and assisting the finance staff with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(other duties may be assigned, as required)

  • Perform bookkeeping functions for various entities
  • Perform reconciliation of various bank and GL accounts on a monthly basis
  • Support month-end and year-end closing process
  • Assist in preparing year-end working papers for external accounting firm for tax returns
  • Respond to inquiries regarding financial results and special reporting requests
  • Liaise with operations management and any involved parties to provide timely, accurate financial reports

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 3 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
  • Solid knowledge of Word, Excel, and Sage or other accounting software
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Professional demeanor
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude and detail-oriented
  • Impeccable accuracy with numbers and high level of attention to detail
  • A solid work ethic with ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Must be willing to commute to downtown head office at least a few times a month
