About this opportunity:
This role will work within the Supply team to ensure that credit obligations and blending activities are identified, monitored, and reported on an ongoing basis. In addition, this role will collaborate with the Supply Optimization Specialist to ensure that compliance impacts are identified and optimized. This role will work extensively with manufacturing, logistics, finance, regulatory and Canadian Refined Products to support blending strategies and the purchase of credits. In addition, this role will work with counterparties to resolve transaction issues.
Responsibilities:
  • Aggregate and compile monthly data for diesel, ethanol and gasoline to establish credit obligation positions for BCLCF, CFS and other provincial renewable regulations.
  • Lead and grow ethanol customer base at ethanol plants.
  • Seek out credit auctions to participate in.
  • Collaborate with Supply and manufacturing stakeholders to determine bio or renewable diesel blending plan.
  • Collaborate with supply and manufacturing to optimize compliance costs using credit and blending strategies.
  • Provide critical compliance information to enable the Supply Optimization Specialist to build supply plan.
  • Collaborate with regulatory, finance and supply to complete annual filing for all compliance programs in Canada.
  • Provide timely market data to support trading decisions for diesel, ethanol, renewable diesel, biodiesel and credits.
  • Support trading decisions with economic analysis for ethanol, biodiesel, renewable diesel and credits.
  • Collaborate with finance, pricing, manufacturing, and counterparties to resolve transaction issues.
  • Provide required commentary and data to support ethanol P&L reviews
Qualifications:
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, commerce, or engineering.
  • Require 3 years of working experience in a commodity marketing and/or trading environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with regulatory renewable programs such BCLCF ( BC Low Carbon Fuels) and CFS ( Canadian Fuel Standards).
  • At least 2 years proven understanding of ethanol markets including pricing, carbon intensity and customers.
  • Previous Experience with regulatory filing for BCLCF, CFS and other provincial compliance programs
  • Experience and knowledge of diesel, ethanol, and gasoline supply in Western Canada
  • Solid understanding of SMS and Allegro would be considered an asset
  • Strong analytical skills and experience building economic models
