We are currently hiring an Automation Technologist to support our engineering projects and drive automation initiatives out of our Regina office location. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation technologies, including programming, system integration, and control systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects and contribute to the advancement of automation solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement automation systems and solutions based on client requirements.
  • Program and configure automation equipment, including PLCs, HMIs & motor control.
  • Perform system integration and testing to ensure proper functionality and adherence to project specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project teams to identify automation needs and propose effective solutions.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics to resolve issues and optimize system performance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, manuals, and user guides.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in automation technologies.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in automation processes.
  • Adhere to safety standards and protocols while working on automation projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Technology program well suited for Industrial Controls & Automation
  • 1+ year experience as an Automation Technologist or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of automation technologies, including PLC programming, HMI development & motor control.
  • Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus) and control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and control schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Knowledge of safety standards and protocols in automation environments
