Assistant director of finance responsibilities or the job of an assistant finance director is concentrated in the accounts department of an organization. Assistant director of finance reports to the controller or senior finance manager.

• Investment planning: Some organizations assign the responsibility of investment planning to the assistant director of finance. He has to provide the most feasible options for short term and long term investments.

Skills of an Assistant Director of Finance

An assistant director of finance must be aware of the accounting concepts and principles including the federal regulations and industrial policies. He must be technically skilled in the various accounts management software and other applications used in a corporate setting. Leadership and communications skills help a great deal as you will have to coordinate with a large number of people and motivate them to achieve the organizational goals.
