About the role
The Deputy Professional Practice Director (Deputy PPD) promotes quality across the Audit and Assurance (A&A) practice, with primary focus on the audit public practice. In coordination with A&A leadership, you would work together with National and Regional Professional Practice Directors (PPD’s) in leading and executing audit quality-related activities.
What will your typical day look like?
As an Assistant/Deputy Professional Practice Director, you will:
  • Promote quality and the culture of continuous improvement for the audit public practice in leading audit quality-related activities;
  • Contribute to the effective operation of the firm’s quality control system;
  • Execute on assigned quality initiatives within the firm’s audit quality plan;
  • Provide consulations and subject matter expertise within the team;
  • Support the National Professional Practice Director in the day-to-day management of the PPD network across the country, ensuring the consistent execution of A&A quality initiatives;
  • Assist the NPPD in driving the execution of A&A’s quality priorities and initiatives;
  • Support partners and other professionals in delivering high quality services to our clients and serving the public interest, with a focus on professional and technical excellence development for our people.

You are someone with:


  • At least 10+ years of experience in public accounting and audit, with a focus on audit reporting issues;
  • Strong understanding of auditing standards with significant audit client service experience;
  • Aptitude and proven track record of consulative behaviour;
  • Deep technical experience in audit and accounting matters;
  • Ability to work closely with executive level leadership, executing on strategic vision and direction;
  • Ability to manage risk on behalf of the Firm, exhibiting sound professional judgement;
  • Strong interpersonal and people skills with exceptional performance in past leadership roles.
