Your Challenge

EXP is currently looking for an Architectural Technologistto join our Building Science Group in the Brampton, ON office. Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, the successful applicant will provide appropriate technical services to Project Managers for those projects to which they have been assigned.

The Incumbent Will Be Responsible For

Your Responsibilities

• Field Reviews and preparation of reports of ongoing construction of High-rise, Mid-rise and Low-rise residential Condominiums/Town Homes Projects in line with Builder Bulletin19-R Risk-Areas and Tarion guidelines.
• Preparation of Tarion documents and associated progress reports for projects.
• General conformance to the architectural drawings, specifications, and current industry standards.
• Tracking of deficiencies from field reviews and consultant reports and collaboration with site supervisor, trades, and other staff for rectification of deficiencies and issuance of completion reports.
• The work will include field testing of structural and building envelope components and systems.
  

The Skills And Knowledge You Bring

• Diploma/degree in a related field of study such as Building Science, Architectural Science or Civil Engineering.
• Knowledge of building design and construction practices.
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word and Excel) and Microsoft Projects.
• Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, and the Ontario Fire Code is an asset.
• A valid driver’s license with own vehicle and travel throughout GTA and Southern Ontario is required.
• Certifications for working from heights including swing stages and elevated platforms is required.
  

The successful candidate will require excellent organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills to work closely with the Architects, contractors, other consultants and EXP Project Managers. Training will be provided to obtain certification for WHMIS, Working from Heights and swing stage/elevated platforms.
