Zymeworks is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery, development and commercialization of next-generation bispecific and multifunctional biotherapeutics, initially focused on the treatment of cancer. Zymeworks’ suite of complementary therapeutic platforms and its fully-integrated drug development engine provide the flexibility and compatibility to precisely engineer and develop highly-differentiated product candidates.

Zymeworks is seeking a highly-motivated professional who is looking to grow their career with our company.

This position will report to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis and will be based in Vancouver, BC.

As a condition of employment, Zymeworks requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and provide verification of such.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists in developing and maintaining the budgeting and forecasting process.
• Creates and maintains reporting materials used to measure and track results against expectations.
• Interfaces directly with G&A business leads to identify financial inputs and changes in annual operating plans and quarterly latest estimates.
• Assists in the preparation of senior management presentations that clearly present financial information to operational and financial leaders.
• Performs as a system administrator for the Company’s financial planning system (SAC).
• Conducts ad hoc financial analysis for strategic and operational decisions.
• Fosters effective and collaborative working relationships with fellow employees, management and external partners.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree, CDN/US/UK professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) and a minimum of 2 years’ related experience in a corporate environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company, an asset.

Skills and Abilities

• Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of cross-functional team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a high paced, fast changing environment.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, including formula building and pivot tables.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and high level of comfort presenting analysis and information to senior management.
• Experience working in an ERP environment required, specifically Adaptive Insights and SAP
• High attention to detail, a strong work ethic and intense focus on accuracy and accountability.
• Self-starter and ability to multi-task while performing a variety of complex tasks.
