What is the Opportunity

As a member of the Commercial Mortgages Administration team, your main responsibility will be to ensure smooth business operations and the integrity and accuracy of the books and records of the loan management system by performing various daily control, monitoring, and reporting functions. The successful candidate is creative, innovative and has strong technical skills that will be applied to suggest and implement ideas to improve operational processes.

What you will do

  • You analyze commitments and contracts, assess mortgage system capabilities as well as external mortgage requirements to ensure proper set-up and loan maintenance;
  • You manage daily transactions such as mortgage advances, remittances, as well as interest and fees collection;
  • You complete, verify and calculate the daily valuation of loans;
  • You assist the Mortgage Analysts with legal document follow-up and code the registration in the system;
  • You liaise with third party servicing agents, insurance agents, tax authorities, solicitors and borrowers;
  • You promote operational effectiveness by identifying opportunities and proposing innovative solutions for the continuous improvement of processes and procedures.

What you will Need to Succeed

Experience and Knowledge

  • You have a postsecondary education or a relevant combination of education, training and/or experience;
  • A course in real estate or mortgage finance from a public university, college or institute is considered an asset;
  • Real estate paralegal experience is considered an asset;
  • Experience with SS&C Precision LM is considered an asset;
  • You have proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, advance knowledge of Excel;
  • You possess a practical knowledge of databases and reporting tools (SSRS).

  • You have a high level of attention to detail and capacity to work under tight deadlines;
  • You have strong analytic and organizational skills;
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) in order to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders;
  • You have a positive, team and solution-oriented attitude.
