Accounts Payable Team Lead - In office

Responsibilities(include accounts payable, general accounting projects, other daily & monthly activities:
  • Accounts payable cycle - timely and accurate input of accounts payable invoices for all vendors, ensure timely payments to vendors and resolve escalated accounts payable issues
  • Supervise, mentor and direct the work of all the Accounts Payable staff
  • Hire and assist in the training and coaching of Accounts Payable Clerks, as necessary
  • Ensure timely input of all third-party and intercompany vendor invoices and timely submission of invoices to Corporate Controller for electronic payment
  • Monitor PO accrual report, ensuring older items and prepaid items are being cleared on a monthly basis
  • Review and input all expense reports submitted within ExpensePoint or manually
  • Reconcile and input all company credit card reports
  • Provide expense report training using ExpensePoint software to new employees and re-training where necessary current employees
  • Review and resolve any escalated accounts payable issues
  • Keep current on all commodity taxes and other information required
  • Month-end account reconciliations including: Trade payables, prepaid expenses, credit card clearing, PO accrual adjustment, assigned month end reconciliations and journal entries and assigned projects
  • Continually challenge the status quo and identify ways to improve process and efficiency withinrole, department and company
  • Promote safe work practices as outlined in the Worksafe B.C. regulations
  • Ensure the Company’s quality policies and procedures are followed
  • Participate in meetings
  • Other duties assigned
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in an accounts payable role in a manufacturing environment
  • Supervisory experience, an asset
  • Experience processing high volume of invoices
  • College Degree or Diploma in Bookkeeping/Basic Accounting or a combination of relevant experience
  • Experience with an ERP system preferable Visual
  • Good understanding of GST/PST regulations
  • MS Office, strong Excel
  • Good Communication skills with stakeholders, internal and external clients
  • Ability to multi-task and manage a high volume of workload, very high attention to details and accuracy and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Hours
  • 8:00 m - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday
