Reporting to the Manager, Finance, the Accounts payable & Receivable Specialist will be primarily responsible for Trans-Canada Capital’s accounts payable and accounts receivable. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills and a strong sense of priorities. Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure are also crucial skills. TCC offers a complex financial environment in which the candidate will be able to develop an in-depth understanding of the operational processes tied to the trade lifecycle.

Role And Responsibilities
  • Review and dispute accounts payable while communicating and following up with suppliers and internal users to resolve issues within acceptable timeframes.
  • Produce invoices for accounts receivable for internal users.
  • Serve as the primary contact for tasks related to billing and payments via our accounting software system.
  • Carry out routine database checks and follow up with external clients to ensure that information provided is reliable.
  • Ensure a consistently high level of quality in service provided in terms of timeliness, accuracy and user-friendliness.
  • Ensure that financial management methods, systems and controls are developed, implemented and kept up to date in accordance with policies and requirements.
  • Forge solid relationships with clients’ business units in order to become an integral part of the team and provide effective finance-related control, consultation and support services.
  • Answer questions from analysts and make any necessary corrections.
  • Help improve and implement internal controls on a continuous basis.
  • Perform other assigned tasks.
Qualifications
  • Diploma of college studies, preferably in finance, accounting or administration, or a few years of experience in an accounting management role
  • Excellent command of the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel)
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft (an asset)
  • Fluency (spoken and written) in French and English (essential)

This position will be based in downtown Montreal.
