M. McKay & Associates is a busy accounting firm located in Whitehorse, Yukon and is seeking an accounting technician to assist the accountants with audits, reviews, notice to readers and bookkeeping. We offer a health and dental benefits package.

The candidate must also meet the following requirements:

• Bookkeeping experience
• Auditing experience
• Availability to work overtime in our busy season from April to October
• Required to work off-site in remote communities
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Must have effective communications skills
• Must have strong computer skills
• Have experience with Caseware, Cantax/Tax Prep, Sage 50/Quickbooks, Microsoft Office

Your primary duties are as follows:

• Testing and vouching to source documents - payroll, accounts payable, and revenue
• Provide audit support for the accountants
• Process accounts payable, payroll, and accounts receivable
• Reconcile bank accounts and other month-end procedures
• Filing, answering phones, delivering mail, purchasing office supplies, preparation of letters, shredding documents, office organization, and other administrative duties.
