Responsibilities

Here is how an Accounting Clerk contributes to our team:

· Maintaining and operating company accounting programs including entries, cheque preparation, deposit preparation and recording, bank reconciliations and other accounting functions as required.

· Completing all financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner.

· Completing required filings in a timely and accurate manner – HST/GST, Corporate Tax, WSIB and others as required.

· Invoice tracking to issued Purchase Orders – including progress invoicing against single Purchase Orders to avoid overpayments

· Prepare project-by-project monthly financing reports and draw requests in conjunction with management

· Receive and respond to Accounts Payable and other vendor inquiries

· Maintain accounts and professional relationships with suppliers and vendors

· Work with Corporate Accountant to compile and reconcile year end accounting information

Qualifications

· Post secondary degree or diploma considered an asset.

· 2 years of accounting experience in construction or related industry preferred.

· Understanding of full-cycle accounting.

· Knowledge of government legislation and GAAP.

· Effective verbal and written communication skills.

· Superior organizational skills to track multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Ability to work in a close team setting.

· Strict confidentiality in handling of financial matters.

· Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and accounting software (Quickbooks Desktop, knowledge of SAGE an asset but not required).

Expected start date: 2022-02-01

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
