A Day in the Life

• Work with the Senior Accountant to capture the needs of clients, members, and stakeholder groups in requirements and transform these into clear specifications for Accounting and execution.
• Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as assist with the preparation of monthly management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Assist with Treasury and cash management.
• Champion the full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and expense reimbursements.
• Prepare fully supported month-end journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Administer semi-monthly payroll in partnership with our HR Team.
• Assist with any financial and tax compliance and government reporting.
• Implement, document, and improve the company’s risk management and accounting controls.
• Act as our ultimate Accounting expert that identifies and implements process improvement initiatives to drive Trendi’s vision and finance processes forwards!
• Assist and support with implementation and rollout of new Finance systems.
• Support the Finance team and other departments, as required.
  
  

What You Bring to the Table

• Minimum 3+ years of progressive Accounting experience.
• CPA designation is required or in the CPA program.
• Strong technical accounting skills, and knowledge in ASPE.
• QuickBooks experience preferred.
• College diploma or University degree in business or financial management
• Strong knowledge of current Canadian payroll rules and laws preferred.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and a roll-up-the-sleeves work ethic - must be comfortable with ambiguity and rapid rates of change.
• Strong Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookup etc.) experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead multiple projects, prioritize, and manage a high-volume of tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – you write clear, concise correspondence with ease!
