ACCOUNTANT

FULL TIME

Boaz is a true Craft Cannabis producer located in the Foothills Industrial sector of Calgary. We pride ourselves in being privately owned, a small team producing some of the most premium, top-quality cannabis in the Canadian market today.

We are currently looking for a hard-working, passionate individual to join our accounting team. At Boaz, you will be part of a dynamic team and will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to support our exciting future.

This position will be reporting to the Senior Accountant and is a full-time, permanent position based in Calgary, Alberta.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable and Accounts payable processing
  • Accurate entry of financial transactions into accounting software.
  • Process payroll and prepare related reports.
  • Maintain and update employee files regularly.
  • Assist with creating manuals for payroll and accounting.
  • Assist in regulatory reporting for Health Canada and CRA.
  • Prepare monthly GST filings for CRA and maintain accurate GST subledger
  • Assist in month-end and year end tasks.
  • Constantly update job knowledge.
  • Interact with senior management, vendors, and customers.
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in accounting or bookkeeping is preferred.
  • Applicants working towards their CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounting Clerk and Payroll and SOLID knowledge of the accounting cycle.
  • Takes ownership for individual areas of responsibility and accepts feedback on performance with the goal of achieving excellence
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel experience required. Competency in MS Office and accounting software.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, financial, and mathematical abilities.
  • Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks.
  • Ability to work well independently and take direction well.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Strong business and written communication skills.
  • Well organized
