Bay Construction + Management Inc. is a Moncton-based commercial construction company with an interesting and diverse portfolio of clients and projects and a sustainable growth agenda. We are currently seeking a talented, passionate and self-disciplined professional to join our team as accountant / controller.

Specific accountabilities, responsibilities and qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants and trades, work collaboratively with all members of the team to promote the company’s policies, procedures and values;
  • Ensure the effective, efficient and timely delivery of the complete accounting cycle including: quick and accurate entries, payables, receivables, payroll, bank reconciliation, government remittances, group benefits and pension plan;
  • Maintain an orderly and accurate accounting filing system;
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and analysis including: financial statements, cash flow statements, profit and loss statements, work-on-hand bonding reports;
  • Create, maintain and improve financial processes and reporting systems;
  • Make recommendations and advice on all financial matters, including calculating variances, reporting significant issues to management and providing support in financial dealings and decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years business experience at a comparable level;
  • Designation of CPA, is considered an asset;
  • Familiar with Quickbooks accounting software considered an asset;
  • Strong management, planning, leadership and organizational skills;
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant discipline;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset.;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
