Nova Scotia Health Authority provides health services to Nova Scotians and some specialized services to Maritimers and Atlantic Canadians. We operate hospitals, health centres and community-based programs across the province. Our team of health professionals includes employees, doctors, researchers, learners and volunteers that provide the health care or services you may need. This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Environmental Services, the Environmental Services Worker is responsible for ensuring a clean and safe environment and, occasionally, the availability of clean laundry and linen for clients and staff. The Environmental Services Worker exhibits sound judgment and initiative while working within the Mission, Vision and Strategic Directions and incorporates into daily practice the Core Competencies and Values of the organization.
Qualifications
- Grade 12/GED required.
- Experience in environmental services, e.g., industrial cleaning services.
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere as well as individually, with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other staff, clients and management.
- Willingness to learn, accept direction and work effectively in a team environment following established policies and procedures.
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment, initiative and problem solving skills.
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness and organizational health.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
Hours of Work
Permanent Part-Time 70% position, 52.5 hours by-weekly.
Salary Information
$17.0904 - $17.8026 hourly
