Sanexen is currently seeking an Environmental Technicianto join its MAJOR PROJECTS team of dynamic professionals at our worksites across Canada (Qc, BC, Prairies and Nunavut). We are looking for the right individual who is driven and enjoys a challenge working on various types of worksites.

This is an opportunity for the right person to demonstrate their LEADERSHIP SKILLS. You would be responsible for ensuring all tasks are conducted with DILIGENCE and IN A TIMELY MANNER.

Your New Responsibilities
  • Carry out fieldwork (groundwater monitoring, soil sampling through test pit excavations or boreholes, etc.)
  • Supervise/assist subcontractors during field work including excavation, sampling, borehole drilling, etc.
  • Surface and groundwater sampling;
  • Soil sampling;
  • Assist in waste tracking and progress reporting;
  • Install/operate water and soil treatment units;
  • Assist with environmental remediations;
  • Assist with soil excavation, occasionally manual excavation;
  • Conduct excavation monitoring;
  • Assist with the consolidation and packaging of hazardous materials;
  • Complete electronic and/or paper documents, such as health and safety documents, daily reports, photographic reports, borehole logs, chain of custody documents, etc.;
  • Assist the Site Superintendent for various site work;
  • Ensure that all work, under Sanexen’s responsibility, is carried out safely and in accordance with the health and safety plan;
  • Other related tasks.
You Have The Right Credentials
  • Experience working in a similar field;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Resourceful and independent;
  • Fluent in English;
  • French speaking would be considered an asset;
  • WHMIS and Occupation First-Aid qualifications considered an asset.
Employment Conditions
  • Work is primarily outside, occasionally in difficult conditions (e.g., rain, cold, snow, etc.);
  • Work schedule is 12 hours per day, 7 days per week; Work is outside of the Edmonton/Montreal area and will require mobility.
  • This position could be filled from anywhere in Canada, as the role is for jobsites across the country. Ideally close to one of our offices in Edmonton, AB or Brossard, QC.
