Job Summary:

MANTECH manufactures software-driven automated laboratory and process analytical equipment for water and soil analyses. Our mission is to optimize the results of our customers while still enabling them to protect our environment. We do this by faster and green methods for analysis that also lead to efficient decision making protecting and conserving our environment and resources. Examples include the most sensitive analyzer for pipeline leak detection into water systems, efficient start-up of LNG pants after a shut down, optimized wastewater treatment at Pulp and Paper Milles, Breweries, Food Processors, Environmental Testing Laboratories etc. ensuring optimized usage of energy and nutrients (phosphorus and nitrogen). By employing green methods our mission delivers on fuel and plastic reduction, reduced chemical usage, further protecting our natural resources. The Environmental Scientist will be involved in these roles as defined below. Projects related to detailed sustainable environmental impact applications due to MANTECH technologies will be an important job function in R&D, Production and Quality Control.

The successful candidate will report to the President and CEO and will have the following duties:

Production related activities including the manufacturing of MANTECH reagents and the quality control of electrodes, syringes, and other MANTECH hardware

Assisting the manufacturing department in the picking and packing of systems

General lab duties including monitoring the MANTECH DI water system, updating the SDSs resource binder and inventory control

Quality control of environmental analyzers for customer orders. Customers include:

Accredited laboratories, private and Government

Factories and municipal wastewater plants generating wastewater

Drinking water treatment plants

Academic Institutions

R&D Projects as defined

Installing MANTECH Systems both virtually and at Customer sites

Supporting Customers virtually and at customer sites

Servicing customers both virtually and at customer sites

Picking and packing for kits and consumable orders

Provide assistance to marketing and communication in entering leads from the website and trade conferences.

Qualifications:

Education:

Graduated successful from an accredited University in environmental science, with emphasis on chemistry and or biochemistry

Experience:

Laboratory skills an asset

Required Skills:

Must have a valid driver’s license

Effective prioritization and time management skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Energetic and self-motivated, able to communicate both effectively and respectfully

Strong work ethic and positive team-building attitude

Computer literacy, including knowledge of SolidWorks, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and proficiency in database programs would be an asset

Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)

Willingness to accept other duties as assigned

Must possess the ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with staff, customers, and distributors by functioning effectively as a team player

Must comply with company policies, preserve workplace safety and safe materials handling as appropriate

Ability to carry out field work within the Guelph – Toronto Region on limited notice

Training Requirements:

All training will be provided including WHMIS and other required safety training, as well as hands-on job specific training

Typical general office and lab conditions, with frequent periods spent in manufacturing. Environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
