Our Company is currently seeking self-motivated, hardworking electrical engineering summer student to join our Winnipeg office. Located just minutes from Winnipeg Airport, this is an excellent opportunity for a student who is looking to grow and develop their professional career in the consulting industry. This exciting work integrated learning opportunity offers hands on experience in Electrical building design and high voltage engineering. You will also have the opportunity to further develop your AutoCAD and Revit skills. This role will provide guidance and mentorship from a licensed engineer.

Hours: 37.5 hours a week

The Responsibilities of this position includes but are not limited to the following:

• Assist with the design of electrical systems in commercial, institutional, residential, public and private facilities
• Assist with the design of high-voltage systems for utility and private clients
• Prepare construction drawings as directed by Project Engineer, Job Captain and Design Technologist
• Assist with the development and preparation of design sketches through the use of AutoCAD and Revit
• Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data
• Perform general duties as required such as printing/plotting, submitting drawings to contractor and completing mark-ups for ’as builts’ and in turn updating MCW records
• Participate in site visits
• Other duties as assigned
• Attend and contribute to internal office and project related meetings

Required Skills

• Currently pursuing post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or REVIT an asset.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Desire to work in a team based environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines.
