The Horne Smelter is fully committed to the continuous reduction of emissions and is looking for dynamic and motivated people to get involved in its major transformation process called AERIS, whose major steps include the modernization of its facilities, the transitional improvements of the current capture systems and the optimization of the facilities around the plant in order to reduce emissions to the lowest possible level.

The main pillar, plant modernization, involves the construction of a new state-of-the-art plant section, housing a high tech process to reduce emissions at source, valued at $480M and phased over 5 years.

Electrical Engineering Internship – Fall 2023 Term
Horne Smelter/Rouyn-Noranda

The Horne Smelter is looking for an Electrical Engineering intern (1st , 2nd or 3rd year), interested in working in an environment that fosters initiative, flexibility and the assumption of responsibilities inherent to the assigned position.

The incumbent’s main responsibilities will be to support the major project managers for the electrical component. The person in charge will have to appropriate the plant standards and the best practices of the industry in order to implement them as part of the various projects. The incumbent will provide support to the electrical works for the various projects in connection with the AERIS project. An active presence on the construction site will allow the incumbent to develop concrete project management skills.

As a member of the organization, the incumbent will participate in continuous and sustainable improvement and ensure that decisions and actions are in line with the corporate business objectives.
