At Active Towing, we are looking for an experienced trucking dispatcher to serve our Roll-off and Float division.

• Our fleet of truck and trailers service the Ontario area, moving construction equipment, excavators, loaders, telehandlers, supplies and materials.

This position is a temporary 1 year position but could very well become permanent.

Job Responsibilities

• Load plan the delivery of freight shipments.
• Ensure delivery is done cost effectively and is profitable.
• Ensure trucks are within legal loading limitations and all safety rules followed.
• Dispatch trucks to specific plants and job sites.
• Solve delivery problems with drivers.
• Ensure directions are complete and accurate.
• Proactive in identifying problems with load planning, directions, drivers, and truck usage.
• Communicate with customers, ensuring specific needs are met or exceeded.
• Be aware of and advise on driver morale.
• Other related duties as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of experience, in moving construction equipment, machinery and materials– some on the job training will be provided
• Experience with Roll Off Trucks, Landoll and Float Trailers
• Strong communicator – written and oral in English
• Work well under pressure and demonstrate patience
• Organized and approachable. Able to envision a broad scope of work into the future.
• Capable of understanding and meeting a wide variety of customer requirements, while being firm and fair with drivers.
• Takes ownership of committed deliveries and keeps commitment, follows up as required.
• Advanced computer skills (Accpac, Microsoft Office, Email, etc.).
• Ability to work Monday to Friday.
• Effective collaboration skills with both internal and external customers
