Director, Lean Transformation

Responsibilities:

  • Lead change agent in the implementation of Lean across global operations including establishment of standards, metrics, employee training, kaizen workouts, value stream management and after-action reviews
  • Personally lead large-scale Business Transformation initiatives
  • Manage a “Velocity” team of Lean Engineers that lead multiple Value Stream Improvement projects, including:
    • Current State Value Stream Mapping
    • Data Planning/Collection/Analytics
    • Analysis of Waste via efficient execution of lean tools for optimal performance (ie. Value Add Efficiency and Speed)
    • Future State Value Stream Mapping
    • Project and Change Management of the Future State Implementation Plan
  • Quickly scale improvements made in Value Stream Improvement projects on a global scale
  • Develop a Global LEAN Scorecard that tracks improvements, especially as it pertains to speed vs stated goals
  • Lead a monthly steering committee with key stakeholder to review performance of program and projects
  • Conduct internal and external consulting engagements as it pertains to Lean improvements
  • Conduct necessary training, coaching and mentoring as it pertains to Lean development for key stakeholders
  • Support the functional teams in developing and executing Lean plans to improve the customer experience and operational metrics
  • Continuously evaluate and operationalize Lean best practices

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience leading teams in a lean transformation(s) in a complex, globally diverse organization
  • Minimum of 5 Years leading a team of Continuous Improvement experts
  • High Level Lean Certifications Required (Lean Sensei, Black Belt, Master Black Belt)
  • Other complimentary CI Certifications such as Six Sigma, PMP, Change Management, etc
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent, MBA preferred
  • Packaging experience an asset

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work effectively across functions; extensive experience leading cross-functional or geographically dispersed teams, proven mentoring and coaching abilities, ability to motivate & inspire others
  • Must be flexible, adaptable and assertive
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with professional presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively apply MS Excel, MS Visio, Simulation and other analysis tools for real-world problem-solving
  • Polished presentation, business acumen and facilitation skills
  • Exceptional understanding of Lean principles
  • Experience with high volume operations
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Ability to operate in a Virtual world
  • Some travel may be required
