Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director, IT Operations & Service Delivery will play a crucial role in BioScript’s overarching IT management. You will be responsible for a broad range of functions, including but not limited to, strategic planning and evolution of BioScript’s infrastructure and technology operations, to ensuring that various IT Operations sub-teams are delivering reliable and responsive day-to-day operations.

The Director of IT Operations and Service Delivery will plan, design, and direct all operational activities of the IT Operations department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. You will work closely with decision-makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-optimized technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

  • Lead a team of professionals in accordance with the company’s values.
  • Set clear team goals, monitor team performance and report on metrics, and discover training needs and provide coaching.
  • Motivate team members, recognize high performance and reward accomplishments, listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts.
  • Delegating tasks and set deadlines for your internal team, encourage creativity and risk-taking, suggest and organize team building activities.

Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with CIO to formulate and deploy long-term strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-optimized solutions.
  • Guide business and IT leaders in making investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision.
  • Provide technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards, technical architecture, and best practices to operational and project teams.
  • Direct research on potential new and innovative technology solutions and implementations.
  • Oversee technical/technology architecture and collaborate with other technology leaders on overall enterprise architecture.

Technology Operations Management

  • Deliver on operational and process projects to improve IT services and functions.
  • Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Review the performance of IT systems (networking, telecommunications, data storage, etc.) to determine operating costs, productivity levels, service levels, and upgrade requirements.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s senior leaders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
  • Authorize and oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support of all infrastructure – primarily cloud, but some on-premise.
  • Improving the maturity of ITIL capabilities such as incident management, change management, release management, configuration management, service catalog, and asset management.
  • Define and communicate project milestones, service level agreements, and resource allocation to the executive team, department leads, support staff, and end users.

Financial Optimization & Vendor Management

  • Develop and review budgets and ensure they comply with stated goals, guidelines, and objectives.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Develop bid requirements for all hardware and software upgrades, review submitted bids for compliance with stated requirements, and makes the appropriate award.
  • Oversee negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.

What you’ll bring to our team

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience and a bachelor’s degree. A degree in computer science, information systems, or business administration with technology as a core component are preferred.
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management, and/or policy development.
  • A good understanding and technical knowledge of both on-premise and cloud technologies, networking, telecommunication, storage and end-user computing.
  • Experience with migrating workloads from on-premise to cloud, and proactively managing cloud infra costs.
  • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to implementation and day-to-day management.
  • Demonstrated experience developing business processes, managing staff, budgeting, and/or overseeing operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to supervise several managers within IT.
