In this role, you will report to the Vice President, Development and become a key member of Oxford’s industrial development team. The successful candidate will support the growth and execution of a robust industrial development pipeline.

Development projects will range in size and complexity from master planning and developing multi-phased, large-scale industrial business parks to remediating and developing brownfield and infill sites. This role will be responsible for the execution of all aspects of the development process including co-leading project feasibility and program management, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external consultants, leading municipal approvals and providing support during the construction process. While preference will be given to candidates with experience in industrial development, it is not a requirement.

More specifically, as a member of this team, you will:
Project Management
Directly manage predevelopment/development phases and teams for various projects across Canada to ensure project objectives are being met.
Manage scope, fees and performance of project consultant teams.
Coordinate Municipal staff and consultants to obtain project planning approvals and permits.
Oversee the preparation of project pro formas; coordination of revenue assumptions, hard and soft cost budgets and development project schedules.
Prepare and present Investment Committee approval briefs and/or provide recommendations to Senior Management as required.
Ensure development projects track to approved financial and timing expectations.
Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Take initiative to understand project complexities
Collaborate with internal leasing teams to secure tenants for all projects.

Development Feasibility
Maintain an understanding of local initiatives and industry trends related to development in target markets.
Maintain a general understanding of the regulatory environment (planning, transportation, environmental, building code) as it relates to current and potential projects.
Research various market nodes with development opportunities.
Due diligence and site acquisition support on new opportunities as required.
Oversee the analysis of predevelopment design options, financial underwriting and preparation of investment approval memorandums and presentations.

To succeed in this role, you have:
A university degree in Business, Engineering, Architecture or Planning (or related field).
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
Strong analytical skills, with experience leading the underwriting process for a development project.
Emphasis on project management and presentation skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Travel within Canada required.
